Why Tangram
We help people to awaken and to discover the self withinIntroduction
An individual arrives at many thresholds during his/her growth from infancy to childhood, from childhood to adolescence, from adolescence to adulthood and from the middle age to old age. The individual encounters – all at one time – biological, chronological, social, psychological and emotional states of being and becoming in the context of transaction and flux in the society, family and the environment. He/ she experiences many uncertainties and doubts and have to choose from unfamiliar and inadequate but large amount of unprocessed information. Therefore, the individual requires a dialogue and a sounding board to understand the choices and to give himself/ herself directions. For a long time family and educational institutions were the core which provided directions for the individual to make socially desirable choices. Today the significance of these institutions has eroded.
The media, peer – pressure, alternative occupational choices, change in lifestyle and relationship pull and push the individual in multiple directions. The pressure for performance and for better future options deny and deprive children, students and adults, all other value added meanings of living, relationships and a satisfactory life. Inability to find self chosen directions and other alternatives creates anxiety and stress.
The rapidly changing society, family, educational institutions and organizations are unable to provide forums where experiences and dilemmas of relational, occupational and life choices can be explored and resolved with sensitivity and dignity.
Institutions like TANGRAM are created to provide a stability and anchorage where individuals and group of individuals:- Can explore issues of choices in education, occupation, quality of relationships and even the transaction between different generations within these areas.
- Can look beyond the existing socio – cultural prescriptions and redefine their membership and roles in systems and institutions.

What We Can Offer
As a professional counselor/ psychologist we have been trained to listen to others issues empathetically and with an open mind, to understand as fully as possible what is concerning and how it's affecting one’s life. Without judging or offering advice, we can become more aware of what resources one has in place for coping and discovering healthier ways of dealing with 'difficult' feelings, people or situations. We work within an environment of absolute respect and confidentiality. The fact that one has come to us for counseling, as well as anything one tells us remains confidential. This is to ensure that the Counselor/ Client relationship is conducted within the strict professional guidelines.
We have very comfortable and welcoming premises for all appointments

The focus is on areas of personal as well as organizational growth. The personal choices imply location in systems, relationship across different levels of the hierarchy in the organization, and managing new relationships.
- At the middle management levels the focus is on realistic assessment of growth within the organization, within the family setting and investment in the role and the self. The explorations at this phase of life are around making new choices and giving new directions. The dilemmas arise from multiple responsibilities and systems, managing stress, professional plateauing and managing mediocre or star performances. At home the dilemmas are from growing children, role of parenting and re- defining parent – child relationships.
- At the senior management levels the focus is on personal review of growth, measurement of performance and transformations and change. The concerns of senior managers are of organizational, global and institutional perspective, new challenges and opportunities, responding to change and innovation and articulating a new vision.
- The focus of the top management is on assessment and review of past history and future directionality and on designing an institutional and societal role. Issues of concerns are managing diversity of people, cultures, and multiple institutions, ethos of work space and health and pathology of an organization. The issues are centred around leadership roles, succession planning, investing in professional legacy and review of organization heritage.
At the societal - institutional level the focus of counseling is on the exploration in
